The idea is good enough to show you my point. I know the analogy is not perfect but bear with me. allow me an analogy: I buy a car and you tell me after 10 or 20 years or whatever that you will not allow me to start it ever again if I move to another town or garage or if I sell the car. the problem is that there is of course the desire to make money off of people who bought a license many years ago and there is a general trend, for many years now, to go from product to service in many aspects of the market (software, phones and even cars). So it is not a subscription in this case (different to modern licenses). in the EU if you buy a software you can use it for all eternity because you bought the right to use it, as intended. Here are some of my opinions and the laws in my country (EU member) are pretty much covering my opinion as far as I understand and as far as my relatively extensive research has shown so far: I tried reasoning with autodesk but it did not work as I hoped. I don't understand why I am pushed towards illegality. I am not expecting any technical updates or anything like that but at least it should work as it did originally. Please don't get me wrong, I understand it's an old software but there should be a way to use it. I talked to one of your techs but he was not able to do anything. The person I bought it from uninstalled it from his Computer in Hamburg many years ago since they bought a newer version and I have all the original media and stuff. I have a serial, a request code and everything but it does not activate. Long story short: I got a 2006LT but it does not want to activate. now I tried older versions but they are not compatible with my PC. Since Autodesk changed their licensing to subscription only I asked my friends and colleagues if anyone has an old copy of anydesk lying around.
